Introduction:

Honey, a 2006-2007 Senior Thesis film at California State University Northridge, is set amongst the Chinese-American gang wars where the clash of old values and traditions, with the new values of an adopted country. Our film is the story of Honey, who walks a careful line between these two worlds, and David, a boy whose generation is at odds with its past. When the two cross paths, an explosive world erupts all around them.

The Story:

HONEY was picked to be a senior project at CSUN after a stringent proposal process. In just a short 12-page script, issues as varied as familial duty, race and gender identity, and honor codes are dealt with in an honest and mature way. The presence of all of these issues gives it an almost epic scope for a student film. However, we feel that it is a story worthy of our undertaking.

Our Commitment:

We are aware of the challenges that come with understanding and accepting diversity in our world. This story is based on the lessons learned when we first begin to accept diversity within our own communities. HONEY is the universal story of the search for acceptance and the human compassion instilled within all of us, to make the world a better place. It is this truth that we strive for in our endeavor in making this film.
